I want to feel more, see more, do more
I just watched a Complete Unknown last night, starring Timothee Chalamet. First of all, I loved the movie. The music is obviously the driving force, but the love triangle along with the real-life storyline really hooked me. I don't think it's possible for a movie to be life-changing, but this one really spoke to me. It made me realize a few things missing from my life. The first one, being that I am desperately craving real life emotions and experiences.
Bob Dylan decided to plop himself down in the middle of NYC and chase his dream. This decision, regardless of the outcome, is one that will lead to significant growth, life lessons, and emotional challenges.
Life. Life is what I crave. I think it is so easy to live an artificial and comfortable life these days. What good is that? Is living a comfortable, boring, life without a deeper mission worth the sacrifice of all of these life experiences. I don't think so. Is this an internal problem for me? Very possible, but I find it hard to believe that there aren't many people out there who feel the same way. I'm very grateful that I've had the opportunity to secure a great job and be setup with a decent financial future. But there's not a doubt in my mind that if I come across the opportunity to give up this lifestyle in order to go all in on something, I would. The thought of relentlessly pursuing a passion and investing in myself 100%, not only excites me, but it is what motivates me every day. The only way to grow is when your back is up against the wall and you have to make hard decisions. Life today is so advanced that these decisions do not always need to be made.
If this is a me problem, great I will figure it out over time just like everybody else does. If this is a problem that affects a large group of other people, then I am genuinely concerned for what the future will look like.
I'll leave you with that, let's all choose the hard way. You might just find what you're looking for.
As always, comments and criticism welcomed!
